Hurricane Ida made landfall on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, making it the second most damaging hurricane to hit Lousiana. Ida left a path of destruction in its wake, leaving thousands of people without power, food, and shelter. Elliot Royster, a young boy from Louisiana, is on a mission to help those in need.
Elliot’s Mom, Betsy, took to social media to spread to word of her son’s mission to buy toys for the children who lost it all. His goal was $300, but with his hard work and the generosity of his community, he has been able to raise over $2,800! He has sent money to Bayou Boeuf, Houma, and Lockport and purchased supplies and toys for Bayou Boeuf.
His Mom, Betsy, has been posting his relief efforts daily on her Instagram page, @betsy.royster. If you would like to donate, you can send them via Venmo to @betsy-royster and use the hashtag #ElliotGivesBack to spread the word!
We need more Elliots in this world.
