HURRICANE MELISSA

Hurricane Melissa made landfall on Jamaica’s southwestern coast as a Category 5 storm, bringing catastrophic winds, flooding, and landslides across the island. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed as the storm moves through the region. Our GEM Caribbean team, based in Kingston, began prepositioning for assistance ahead of the storm, with additional aid and cargo shipments en route from GEM Headquarters. Two large warehouses in Kingston are stocked with emergency supplies to support both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.
LA COUNTY WILDFIRES

In early January 2025, the Santa Ana winds sparked a series of wildfires throughout Los Angeles County. Among the most devastating were the Palisades and Eaton Fires, which burned thousands of acres across the Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Santa Monica, Altadena, and Pasadena. Tens of thousands of residents were evacuated as Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency. Thousands of homes were at risk, and many were destroyed. Our GEM USA West branch deployed to the area to support affected families and first responders with critical supplies.
HURRICANE HELENE + MILTON

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 storm. Over 4 million people were immediately affected with power loss, extreme flooding, and heavy winds. Countless more households have been affected along all of Florida's Gulf Coast and through to Georgia, South and North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
The GEM team is on the ground conducting distributions out of Perry, Florida and Asheville, North Carolina. This includes water, food, cleaning supplies, tarps, pet supplies, hygiene supplies, and more. Furthermore, GEM is also making smaller aid runs by vehicle and helicopter to rural zones and cut-off communities. Select which initiative you'd like to donate to below.
MAUI WILDFIRES

Our GEM BStrong team is on the ground now in Maui, Hawaii, assisting those who have been severely affected by the wildfires.
Our immediate assistance will come in the form of our BStrong cash cards, which offer survivors the flexibility of purchasing whatever supplies they need most. We will also be offering relocation and short-term accommodation assistance to those who's homes have been severely damaged or completely destroyed in the fires. We will also be offering support for pets affected.
Our team will be on the ground indefinitely, ensuring that those on Maui will be given as much long-term support as needed.
