Dr. Daryl Gioffre discusses here how to get back on track with your health, and to keep up with those New Year goals that you set. He first recommends that if you are off track from your goals, it is okay and to not beat yourself up over it! He urges viewers to focus on the present and set a plan of sustainable goals that have life long effects. He really wants people to focus on balance. He introduces a concept called SMART goals, S stands for specific, M for measurable, A for attainable, R for relevant, and T for timely. These goals are a simple way to either start, or get back on track with anything you want to accomplish. He does stress that if you slip up it is okay! You must be flexible during this process in order to reach your goals. The focused nature of this concept makes achieving anything you put your mind to simple!
However, the most important part of this process is your why. Why do you want to achieve this goal? What is your purpose? Your reason will drive you to accomplish any goal, “If your why is big enough, your how will find a way.”
