If you’ve ever scrolled TikTok, you’ve probably seen sour grapes. They’re just fresh grapes coated in sour powder, then eaten straight from the bowl or popped in the freezer until icy and crunchy. Bethenny couldn’t resist trying them herself when she realized she had a bunch of grapes sitting around. "I'm going away tomorrow, and I want to make sour grapes," she said. But the idea of poking each one with a toothpick? Not happening. "Ain't nobody got time for that."

Her shortcut worked perfectly. She rinsed the grapes, blotted them lightly so they were still damp, and tossed them into a bowl with Padiano’s Kitchen Sour Powder (Level 2) from Amazon. The powder clings instantly, no toothpicks required. After her first bite, Bethenny declared: "Holy crap. This is sickening." (In a good way, obviously.)

She loved them straight from the bowl, but you can also freeze the coated grapes for a firmer bite. If you want to experiment, try rolling them in Pop Rocks or cinnamon crushed candy for extra flavor, though we think the sour powder alone is enough.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch seedless grapes, rinsed and lightly patted dry
  • Padiano’s Kitchen Sour Powder (Level 2), or another sour mix/gelatin powder
  • Jell-O, any flavor (Bethenny used grape)
  • Crushed popping candy (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash grapes and leave them slightly damp. Lightly blot with a paper towel.
  2. Place grapes in a large bowl. Sprinkle generously with sour powder and Jell-O.
  3. Toss until every grape is coated, scraping extra powder over the top if needed.
  4. Eat immediately, or freeze for a few hours for a firmer texture.

Bethenny’s final word: "Yes!"
