With more people turning to a plant-based diet, it is good to know which options might suit your palate the most! Bethenny tried different plant-based meal delivery services to share with you and cut out the guesswork.
First up, we have Sakara! The Sakara Life organic meal delivery program is based on a whole-food, plant-rich diet that includes fresh and nutrient-dense ingredients. Bethenny tried the Neapolitan Parfait, the Yoga Bunny Breakfast, the Bliss Bowl, and the Lavender Quesadilla with Broccoli Pesto. Here is what she thought:
Yoga Bunny Breakfast: Carrots, raisins, walnuts, and lemongrass butter – yum! This breakfast is like a little nutty carrot muffin, topped with butter for good measure.
Neapolitan Parfait: This is very delightful treat. Interesting that it contains cauliflower and chickpeas as you would never know!
Bliss Bowl: The base greens are arugula, with quinoa throughout. The dressing wasn’t her thing, but it also comes with a big avocado on top that is covered in seeds! The macadamia nut feta was an interesting twist. Comes with pickled watermelon which has great flavor once you get past the name! Bethenny liked that they put the watermelon separately so it doesn’t make the salad soggy – very thought out!
Lavender Quesadilla with Broccoli Pesto: Layered within corn tortillas is a nutrient-dense lavender “cheese” made from cashews, blue-green algae and beet powder.
This was a delicious quesadilla! The “crispy chayote salad” it comes with is a great addition.
Bethenny had high hopes for Mosaic from what she had already known about the meal delivery service! Let’s see what she thought of the Tangy Thai Stir Fry and the Spicy Sichuan Soba.
Tangy Thai Stir Fry: The rice noodles are coated in a zesty tamarind sauce and tossed with crisp bean sprouts, carrots, and red cabbage. It’s topped off with baked tofu and crushed peanuts for extra protein! Great dish, but not Bethenny’s favorite.
Spicy Sichuan Soba: If you like bold flavors than this dish is for you! Stir-fried soba noodles tossed with edamame and crunchy broccoli, plus hints of citrus and ginger in a black bean sauce.
Bethenny though both soups were really good with nice rich flavors, but prefers soups to be either pureed or chunky – and these were a little of each. She liked that they taste healthy and they are not high in calories – win!
On the flip side, Splendid Spoon sells a
Coffee Frappe Smoothie that weighs in at an astounding 550 calories for 16oz if you are looking for something with much more calories than the soups, which are 260 for the entire container.
